Co-Creating and Reimagining STEAM Classrooms

ACCIPE is welcoming 25 teachers from Wales and Portugal that will take part in a professional development experience in Portugal in March 2026.

The aim of the course is to provide participants with a solid foundation in STEAM principles and pedagogy, with a particular focus on creative, cross-curricular, and inquiry-based learning that can be adapted to their own educational contexts. Through hands-on exploration of Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics, participants will experience first-hand the kinds of learning they will later facilitate in their classrooms.

what we’ve done…

Mindfulness for Educators. Improving teacher wellbeing and student engagement.

2nd-5th December 2025

Málaga – Spain

ACCIPE welcomed 21 teachers and teaching assistants from Wales and Spain that took part in a professional development experience during the first week of December.

The course was organised in collaboration with International Links Global (ILG) and delivered by experts Lawrence Body and Marta Alcudia Conejo.

As part of the course, participants visited CEIP San José de Calasanz that provided participants with a real-life example of how mindfulness is embedded across the school environment.

The experience included an event at Universidad de Málaga, Facultad de Educación, where experts Gemma Muñoz from CEIP Daidín, Kate Martin from Cardiff Council and María del Mar Gallego García from CEP de Málaga, among others, presented their experiences of mindfulness and well being in educational contexts. There was also an opportunity to discuss different approaches with Spanish teachers that attended the event.

Mindfulness for Headteachers and Senior Leaders. Enhancing Wellbeing and Leadership Skills.

ACCIPE welcomed 28 headteachers and senior leaders from Wales and Spain that took part in a professional development experience during the second week of November.

The course was organised in collaboration with International Links Global (ILG) and delivered by the British expert Lawrence Body.

As part of the course, participants visited Colegio de La Asunción and Liceo Internacional Francés Málaga that provided participants with a real-life example of how mindfulness is embedded across the school environment.

The experience included practical activities, presentations from Rosa Arcos, director of CFR Marbella, and Gemma Muñoz, from CEIP Daidín; exchange with staff and students, and a space for reflection on the impact of mindfulness practices on the school community’s wellbeing.

Madrid – Spain

ACCIPE welcomed 17 headteachers and senior leaders from Greece and Spain that took part in a professional development experience during the first week of February 2024 in Madrid.

The course was organised in collaboration with Diefthinsi Defterovathmias Ekpaidefsis Viotias (Greece) and delivered by Sara Novo and Mamen Pérez.

As part of the course, participants visited Asociación Norte Joven and were able to discuss synergies between teamwork and community building approaches.
